Zion's P.O.W.E.R. Dancers
Zion's P.O.W.E.R. Dancers is our interpretive dance ministry that began in 2001 as a vision of two ladies, April Robinson and Marisa Chester. They wanted to teach young ladies the basic skills and techniques of ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern dance. Most importantly, April and Marisa saw dance as an opportunity for real outreach to girls in our community. They envisioned dance as a vehicle to teach young women to use their skills, talents, and abilities to worship God through dance tecniques known as the interpretive movement.
Today, April and a cadre of young ladies who have grown up in the program teach the new generation of dancers the skills of interpretive dance. Marisa is no longer involved with Zion's P.O.W.E.R Dancers. The Lord has called her to serve Him in another area.
The Lord continues to bless Zion's P.O.W.E.R. Dancers ministry. It has continued to grow larger each year. Dance has been a means of exposing young ladies to God's tremendous love, mercy, and grace. For more than ten years, we have been offering free dance classes to girls ages 4-18. It is our continuing desire to teach young ladies that they can worship God and even lead others in worship through dance.
